Welcome to the Department of Endocrine & Breast Surgery at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, a pioneering institution that has been at the forefront of clinical practice, training, teaching, and research in the domains of endocrine and breast surgery since its establishment in September 1989. As the first academic department of its kind in India, we have consistently strived to set the standard for excellence in this specialized field.
Our department boasts a rich legacy of accomplishments, including the initiation of the first Post-Doctoral Certificate Course (PDCC) in Endocrine Surgery in India in 1997. Building on this foundation, we further expanded our educational offerings by introducing the MCI recognized MCh Endocrine Surgery Course in 2004. The alumni of our department form a distinguished cohort of professionals who are actively engaged in academic or institutional practice of Endocrine & Breast surgery, both nationally and internationally.
Recognizing the evolving needs of the healthcare landscape, we embarked on a new venture in 2020 with the inception of the Post-Doctoral Certificate Course (PDCC) in Breast Surgery, aimed at providing specialized fellowship training opportunities in this burgeoning field. Complementing our educational programs, we also offer a PhD Program and Short-term Trainee/Observer positions to empower teachers of surgery and practicing surgeons with advanced knowledge and skills.

Our esteemed faculty in the Division of Breast & Endocrine Surgery leverage their expertise to address neoplasms arising in the breast, thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. Through interdisciplinary collaboration with experts from various departments, we guide patients through the surgical decision-making process, offering innovative diagnostic and therapeutic solutions tailored to their unique needs.
