The 50th ICRO (Indian College of Radiation Oncology) educational program is being organized by the Indian College of Radiation Oncology (ICRO), the academic wing of the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI) in a two-day (30 August 2025-31 August 2025). This educational program based on the topic "Landmark Trials and Practice Changing Evidence in Breast, Head and Neck, Gastrointestinal and Gynecological Cancer" is being organized in the auditorium of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical and Health Sciences.
The first day of the program was inaugurated by the Principal and Chief Guest of SGRRIM&HS, Dr. Ashok Nayak, Director, SGRRIM&HS and Organizing Chairman of the program, Dr. Manoj Gupta, Chief Medical Superintendent, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dr. Anil Malik, Medical Superintendent, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dr. Ajay Pandita, President AROI, Dr. S.N. Senapati, ICRO Chairperson, Dr. Sarbani Ghosh Laskar and Sun Pharma company official Mr. Arvind Suri jointly by lamp lighting.
The aim of this educational program is to educate medical students pursuing postgraduate studies in radiation oncology about the latest research work and treatment methods being done worldwide in the field of breast, head and neck, gastrointestinal cancer and gynaecological cancer.
In the program, radiation oncology experts guided and enlightened the participating students. In this educational program, more than 100 postgraduate students and doctors from reputed medical institutions like JIPMER Pondicherry Medical College, Tata Hospital Mumbai, Tata Institute Sangrur, Tata Institute Mullapur, AIIMS Rishikesh, PGI Chandigarh, Fortis Hospital, Max Hospital, Apollo Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi Medical College, IGMC Shimla participated. Dr. V. Srinivasan, Dr. C.S. Madhu, Dr. Rajesh Vashisht, Dr. Pooja Nandwani Patel, Dr. Gautam K. Sharan, Dr. Rachit Ahuja, Dr. Debanjan Sikdar and Public Relations Officer Vivek Sharma also contributed significantly in making this educational program successful.
