Recently, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dehradun, accomplished such a remarkable achievement. The hospital’s Department of Surgery successfully performed an extremely complex operation, removing a massive tumor weighing 13.2 kilograms from the abdomen of a 20-year-old woman, marking a significant milestone in medical history. Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital Chairman, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj, congratulated the doctors of the Surgery Department on this achievement.
Senior surgeon Dr. J.P. Sharma and his team at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital carried out the challenging operation, which lasted for about four hours. The patient had no prior knowledge of this tumor and was living a normal life. She was brought to the hospital by her family after suddenly experiencing severe abdominal pain. Upon initial examination, Dr. Sharma discovered that the young woman had an abnormally large tumor in her abdomen, which had begun to exert pressure on several vital organs. In medical science, this condition is referred to as an Ovarian Large Tumor.
Dr. Sharma immediately advised the patient’s family to opt for surgery, as the tumor could rupture at any time, putting her life at grave risk. After a four-hour-long surgery, the medical team successfully removed the gigantic tumor weighing 13.2 kilograms from her abdomen.
The operation team included Dr. Puneet Tyagi, Dr. Dipankar Nayal, Dr. Pushkin Pokhriyal, and from the Anesthesiology Department, Dr. Neha. Their collective expertise and teamwork ensured the success of this surgery. Post-operation, the patient’s condition is stable, and she has been discharged from the hospital.
