Villagers Flock In To Benefit From Free Health Camp Of SMIH and SGRRIM & HS

In today’s fast paced day and age, people tend to compromise with their health, big time. The fast paced way of living has become more of a lifestyle of sorts having followers ranging through diverse age groups. Be it Students or Office goers everyone seems to have fallen a prey to the shallow way of living life which majorly contributes in following an unhealthy regimen and compromise with self care and a healthier and fit body for individuals. With the motive of promoting a healthy lifestyle, the Department of Community Medicine, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences (SGRRIM&HS) and Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital (SMIH) organized a Free Health Camp on June 27th 2023 at Village Doodhli. This Health Camp was organized with the blessings and continuous support of Chairman, SGRRIM&HS AND SMIH, Shri Mahant Devender Dass Ji Maharaj. The Health Camp was organized under the guidance of and Head, Deptt. of Community Medicine, SGRRIM&HS, Dr. Puneet Ohri. It’s worth mentioning that Doodhli Village is an area adopted under the Family Adoption Program by SGRRIM&HS as per the guidelines laid down by National Medical Commission

(N.M.C.). The Free Health Camp was organized at Atal Utkristh Inter College, Doodhli from 9 am to 01pm. Dr. Vishwanath Tyagi & Dr. Divyanshu Sidhwal from Deptt. of Medicine, Dr. Srishti Kaushik from Deptt. of Obs. & Gyn., Dr. Stuti Manglam from Deptt. of Eye and Dr. Muhammad Shahid from Deptt. of Pediatrics gave medical consultation to the patients. Various doctors of Deptt. of Community Medicine also gave medical consultation to the patients. They gave necessary health advices to the patients coming to the camp along with prescribing them the necessary medicines. All these medicines were given to the patients as prescribed free of cost. Not only, Free vaccination under the routine immunization, blood tests like estimation of haemoglobin and Random Blood Sugar were also given to the patients of the camp.

A day before the camp, proper Information Education & Communication exercise was done by the faculty & health workers who work in the field practice areas of Department of Community Medicine of SGRRIM&HS along with the students of MBBS 2022 Batch who have adopted 5 families each in Village Doodhli and nearby villages as per the National Medical Commission (N.M.C.) norms.

Pamphlets and banners for the same were also given to the local shop vendors, Anganwadi centre (Creche),Gram Pradhan of Village Doodhli, Principal of the school where camp was organised in order to promote the camp so that maximum number of residents of Village Doodhli and nearby rural areas could avail the benefits of this free medical camp.

The camp was organized and managed by Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine, SGRRIM&HS, Dr. Vani Sharma in co-ordination with the Deputy Senior Public Relations Officers, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Mr. Sachin Sharma and Mr. Suhaib Khan and health workers Mr. Sandeep and Ms. Jaya.

All the faculty members of the Department of Community Medicine namely Dr. Megha Luthra, Dr. Kajal Gupta, Dr. Neha Upadhyay, Dr. Shalki Mattas, Dr. B. Sudha Spandana, Dr. Vineetha Kothiyal, Dr. Romila Rawat, Dr. Rupali helped in co-ordination of the camp along with carrying out the IEC activities for the camp.

More than 100 patients availed the services of the Free Health Camp.

Dr. Puneet Ohri and Dr. Vani Sharma informed that Medical camps like this will be organized once every year in the adopted area for the benefit of the people residing in these Rural areas to promote ways of healthy living  and spread awareness about healthy living.
